O2 wanted to find a way to rev up its CSR programme. It found the solution by partnering with Bauer Media to create a GoThinkBig – a social action platform offering young people career inspiration, advice and 30,000 work experience opportunities. Nine young people are now running the project, which has achieved 1.5million page views and a Twitter endorsement from the Prime Minister. Work experience applications numbered 12,035 and new partners Channel 4, Spotify and Viacom have been signed up. To read more, click here.

Samsung’s GALAXY camera is the first to have a full Android operating system, WiFi and 3G/4G – making it perfect for people who want to share their high quality pictures instantly. The team joined up with Time Out to invite residents of London and New York to upload images of their city in a contest that tapped into trans-Atlantic rivalry, to find out which city is really the best. Each week, GALAXY cameras were awarded to the takers of the five best photos from each city, and at the end of the project Samsung selected their three favourite images from each city, which were used for Time Out’s magazine covers. A final winner was voted for by the public via social media. The London v New York story proved compelling – 15,000 images were uploaded and the Samsung Facebook page attracted 4000 comments.
